I’ve Got Some Badass Moves!
Friday, October 9th, 2009Eliminator Challenge
Monday, September 21st, 2009I started a group over at ESPN for the Eliminator Challenge. You get to pick one team a week in the NFL and if they win you keep going, if they lose you’re out. Only thing is that you can use a team one time only and then they’re not available for the rest of the season.
Get in the action now:

Working from home today
Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007Kim and Jake are sick. They’ll get over it, but right now it’s bad.
I’m just VPNed into work and taking care of emails and any documents that I can from the house when I’m not wiping noses.
I’m also watching CNN and the fires in SoCal. I’ve gotten updates from all my friends out there and they are still doing OK. All fires are north and south of them right now. I just hope that when the Santa Anna winds kick up this afternoon it doesn’t push fires toward them.

Crazy things happen when I drink
Monday, August 13th, 2007Thanks to everyone
Tuesday, July 10th, 2007I haven’t posted for a while. That may have been noticed by the three (maybe two?) of you that sometimes see these posts, most likely through an RSS feed
… Anyway, I’m sure that most of the people who do read these posts know why I haven’t been too worried about posting, anyone who doesn’t know (I’m guessing everyone does) can email me or ask one of the other people that does know.
I guess what I’m getting at is that just wanted to post a thank you to all of you. I can’t think of a single person that I know who didn’t say something nice in the last few months… hell, I’m sure that even Jim said something nice at some point.
Thanks.
Chris’ Blog
Tuesday, May 8th, 2007Chris, a DEQ coworker, has moved his site away from its Kettering University hosting to a public host that allows scripting languages. This means that he can update his site more often. He said that he plans to put some interesting links up about tech stuff at his new site whistlinDixie.us
Vote for Tommy!
Sunday, April 1st, 2007If the Republicans want people like me back in their camp then they may want to think hard about nominating Tommy Thompson. I got to see his policies at work first hand while I was at the UW.
I’m not sure if it has something to do with state politics vs. national politics, but he was able to get some of, what I think are, the common sense issues taken care of while he was Governor of Wisconsin. If I remember correctly he implemented some kind of plan that required any, able bodied, person who was on state welfare to work some nominal amount of time each week/month to be able to receive their benefits. He also pulled off what I consider the Holy Grail of politics as Governor; he implemented a working state health care plan. Anyone with a bit of sense, and who is not biased towards the insurance industry, can see that it would save everyone a lot of money if we had some kind of national health care plan to help the uninsured.
I also think that Thompson would help bring the Republicans and Democrats closer together. He’s a moderate, and after what Bush has done to this country in the last 6+ years we need a moderate President in my opinion.
The Stupid Five Things Thing
Monday, January 29th, 2007OK, I hate this kind of stuff, but since Jim and Brian decided to acquiesce to Harry I guess I’ll have to as well. However, I have no intention of propagating this any farther (I don’t know anyone that hasn’t already been tagged).
I guess the way this works is that I need to tell the world five things about myself that most people don’t know. This won’t be easy since I talk a lot and don’t hide things – especially since I can’t use the “I’ve had my picture taken naked in the snow” thing. Here we go…
1) I’m afraid of Ghosts. If I’m ever home by myself I have to leave the TV and lights on. If I’m home with the kids, and Kim isn’t there, I’ll grab one of the kids (Usually Reilly) and make them sleep in my bed.
2) I once stayed awake for about 48 hours because the skipper on my fishing boat forgot to tell me to go to sleep. I know you must be thinking that I shouldn’t have to have someone remind me when it’s time to sleep, but this is different. You didn’t sleep until you were told to sleep on this boat and I was intimidated by my skipper, he was an ex marine drill sergeant. Once he realized that I had been awake for two days he told me to “crap out”. I think he respected the fact that I didn’t bitch or whine about not getting to sleep because he let me sleep a long time.
3) I can’t spell (I know some of you already know this). I once forgot how to spell egg.
4) I can wiggle my ears.
5) Once, when I was drunk, I punched through a window on a building just to see if I could do it. Turns out that I could… I’ve still got the scar on my right hand to remind myself.
Well, that’s it, nothing left to hide.
edit: it looks like this theme doesn’t like ordered lists.
Finally
Saturday, January 6th, 2007I got off my lazy ass and redirected badger4life.com to the blog page. It only took me 18 months to get around to it.
Women Haunt Me
Sunday, December 10th, 2006I’m not sure what’s going on, but it seems that the women in my life are haunting me in my dreams. Two nights ago I had a dream that my wife was leaving me. Last night I had a dream that I was in trouble with my boss, Melanie, for wearing shorts to work.
I’m guessing that my mother is going to show up tonight. Maybe she’s got something to tell me about Freud.
