Modern Warfare 2

Tuesday, July 28th, 2009

For those of us that love Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare 11.10.09 can’t get here soon enough! Here’s a little video from the game to either hold us over or make waiting that much harder. This is not a cinematic, this is actual game play.

Yes We Can!

Tuesday, February 5th, 2008

He’s had my vote for a long time. This video does a good job of summing up a good number of the reasons why.

I’m tired of divisive politics that only work because our apathetic citizenry doesn’t want to take the time to think on their own. We listen to talking heads and people in power who want the status quo so that they stay in power. We don’t need to be so divided in this country.

EDIT:

Here’s a really quick video to watch. It addresses the lies that are told in a false email that’s been going around on the internet for some time now.

Baby birds with eyes open

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

Here’s a video from last night that shows the babies with their eyes open. It wont be long now until we can pick them up and then we can clean out that damn cage :)

Baby Laughing

Monday, September 24th, 2007

Because we can’t ever get enough of laughing babies around here…

Some random laughing baby!

Kim and I figured out that something fun to do with this video is to close your eyes and just listen to the baby laugh. That is one funny kid.

Bird Eyes

Monday, September 24th, 2007

The baby cockatiels are beginning to open their eyes. As of last night one of them had both eyes open, another had his left eye open, and the third had neither eye open. I’ll try to get some video tonight to post on the blog.

Also, to update everyone on the number of birds… Only the three made it. We knew that one wasn’t going to make it, and I found out that the fourth egg wasn’t viable on Saturday morning. I’ve removed the two eggs that were not viable from the nesting box so that Sweetie and Diego can focus on the three babies.

New Bird Video

Monday, September 17th, 2007

Here’s the latest video of the baby birds. One was born last Wednesday, another on Thursday, and the most recent one on Saturday. I’m starting to worry a little bit about the 4th egg. Sweetie (the momma) was laying the eggs about a day apart, but I think that the last egg came a few days later… so we’ll see if we get a 4th.

3 out of 4 Birds

Sunday, September 16th, 2007

We’ve got a visual on the third baby cockatiel. Only one more egg to hatch.

Bird video

Thursday, September 13th, 2007

I tried to get a good picture of the baby birds, but it’s hard to get close enough to see them without the flash washing out the picture. Kim can do a better job with her Nikon and I’ll post those pics later. Here’s a video of the little guys. If you listen close you can hear them peep at the beginning of the video. About 1/2 way through Diego (the proud father) gets sick of me being in their space and starts screeching.

Baby Birds

Thursday, September 13th, 2007

As some of you already know our cockatiels laid five eggs a few weeks ago. Yesterday morning the first of the chicks hatched, and last night I saw a second chick. I’m not sure how many have/will hatch at this point, but we’ve got two successfully out of the shell :) We know one egg wont hatch, it had a little crack at one point and it didn’t look the same as the other eggs as the last few weeks passed.

I’ll be posting pictures and video on the site starting tonight so keep checking in. Right now they’re so ugly that they’re cute.

If anyone wants me to remove any offensive post (politics or language…) from the blog so that kids can come to the site just let me know and I’ll get rid of them

American Idol – Instant Fame

Friday, January 19th, 2007

This post may not be about what you are expecting. It’s not about an American Idol contestant that’s garnered instant fame – not really anyway. It’s about a guy that got bored, watched American Idol, decided to find out more about the standout contestants (good and bad) and then blogged about it.

His name is Eric and he has a site not really unlike mine in the sense that it was created to mostly communicate with family and friends. However, after his post about American Idol’s visit to Minneapolis the traffic at his website changed a bit. Here’s the link to his site, and here’s the link to the post that tells his story. Make sure to look at the American Idol Myspace Hunt: Round 1 and 2 posts that he has up.

Interesting stuff. If his page doesn’t load it’s because so many people are hitting his site at the same time that you’re trying to, just try again in a minute or so. Also, there’s always the chance that his site is down for a while due to the traffic.

Hat tip to Big Jim for the initial link.

US Open & Direct TV

Wednesday, August 30th, 2006

Direct TV, a company that I’ve always liked more than any cable company I’ve ever dealt with, is giving it’s viewers five extra channels to watch the US open. I can watch just about any game that I want to. Plus, I’m watching one channel that has all the matches showing on it and I can switch between which one I want audio on.
