Happy birthday my brother. I’m sure your Auburn alumni friends would approve of the helmet after your new hire at head coach.

War Damn Eagle Go Badgers!

We love you!
There are some new pics uploaded.

It was haircut time for the boys this weekend. I think Matt’s was by far the best.

OK here are a few pics. Just like dad, he’s way better looking in real life so you need to come see him
Weight: 8.3 lbs
Length: 21.25 in
Time of birth: 12:25
He looks like Jake did
Ian’s here. I’ll update with stats in a bit.
It’s push time!
Contractions are getting bigger. Still not time to push.
It’s 11:00 and we’re watching Ellen. God I love epidurals – just not for me :p
She’s at 6 cm now. The nurse said that the baby’s head needs to come down a bit so we’re not at go time, but we’re getting closer. Also, our transition nurse is here now. The transition nurse is something that we had to pay a bit extra for, but it allows us to keep Ian with us the entire time after he’s born. If we didn’t have a transition nurse we’d have to let them take Ian to the nursery for about 4 hours after he was born so that they could monitor him (no dads allowed in there).
It’s been about an hour and all is good. Kim is still having contractions and there aren’t any problems
– They took the puke bucket away, that’s good right?
Kim is resting a bit right now. Blood pressure and pulse are good again. It’s quiet, peaceful even, in the room right now.
P.S. is there anyone out there reading this crap, or is it just a therapeutic exercise for me?
Her blood pressure just dropped again, but the nurse wasn’t so worried this time (I was). She had to put Kim on her back for a second and that caused the pressure drop.
The baby “wasn’t happy” the first time the pressure dropped. Heart beat was hard to find. That’s what clued me into everything that was going on. The nurse knew for about 3 or 4 minutes longer than I did, but once she started trying to get Ian’s heartbeat and she seemed concerned I figured that I should get concerned.
Anyway, nurse is good, NICU nurse came by and she’s good, anesthesiologist came by again and he’s good, Kim is resting so I figure she’s good… I guess the only one that’s not good is me – I think I need some damn Valium after this is all over.
Kim’s blood pressure was 60s/30s for about 10 – 15 minutes. I could tell by the way the nurse was acting that it wasn’t OK. After three shots (10 cc each) of epinephrin she’s back up to 100s/50s which is acceptable.
She’s at 4 – 5 cm dilated.
She just got an epidural. I’m in less trouble now.
Things are getting a bit harder on the wife now, I can tell because I’m getting in trouble a bit more easily now. I just lowered the bed the improperly, silly me. Contractions are getting worse for sure.
The Dr. was just in a broke Kim’s water. She’s at 3 cm dilated and 75% efaced.
EDIT: It seems that once the amniotic fluid is gone the contractions get worse. I guess there’s some cushioning going on with the fluid being in there. Contractions are definitely closer now too.
