This is just too good to not post about. I normally just post a funny video or something if I post at all these days, but I love seeing guys like this exposed for the whack jobs that they are.
It seems that (according to this Yahoo! article) Rush reported on some “news” that actually came from a satirical post at a conservative blog back on August 25th. What makes this soooooo good is that once this Limbaugh fella found out that he was reporting a made up story he defended himself by saying that it’s OK because he knows that “Obama thinks it” even though it was made up. Really? Wow. Here’s the audio:
I really like how he tries to act like this is a story that’s still in progress or may still be true. You see, he’s not lyeing, he’s just not sure. Riiiiiight. “We have to hold out the possibility that this is not accurate”. Way to be intellectually honest Liar Rush. Idiots like Rush, Sean, Coulter et. al. are the reason that our country is so divided right now if you ask me.
Anyway, here are some links about the story from people who are more reliable and better informed than I:
Joe Klein, who was credited as writing the article in the first place says: “…but I wonder about what the willingness to take this cheesy crap as gospel says about Ledeen’s–and Boss Rush’s–sensibility.”
I swear the neo-cons are a caricature of what they complain about. Really, are there any sane people out there who still consider themselves republicans?
OK, the only thing that’s going to shock me now is if the Republican party actually disappears. These guys are either really good at scheming, or the most narcissistic fools that I’ve ever seen. They’re becoming some kind of caricature of what they oppose. I’ve seen less crazy in a good episode of Monty Python.
No reason for me to give my opinion on what’s going on right now in our country, Brian does a great job for me on his blog. I’m just going to link to his post here. If you’re too lazy to read Brian’s post you need to at least take the time to watch the videos he links to in it.
One thing I will say is that I wish we would have listened to Sen. Byron Dorgan (D-ND) back in ‘99.
What ever happened to staying out of my business and being fiscally conservative? The way Palin sounds when she’s talking about the Supreme Court is about as convincing as any of the GOP arguments for social conservatism that I’ve heard lately.
I love that this video makes Karl Rove look like a double talking ass. I think that man has created more problems in the country with his divisive politics. He’s not the only one.
When asked what he liked about the two main party candidits Ron Paul answered “not a whole heck of a lot”. I know that’s an obvious answer from him but I still think it’s funny and I like it.
Here’s a cool little article about Republicans vs. Democrats on the economy. A quick note about the article – it’s full of statistics, and you know what they say about statistics: there’s lies, damn lies… So as the article says at the end “Caveat emptor“.
Anyway, it sure seems to sum up my feelings about the Bush administration fairly well.
He’s had my vote for a long time. This video does a good job of summing up a good number of the reasons why.
I’m tired of divisive politics that only work because our apathetic citizenry doesn’t want to take the time to think on their own. We listen to talking heads and people in power who want the status quo so that they stay in power. We don’t need to be so divided in this country.
EDIT:
Here’s a really quick video to watch. It addresses the lies that are told in a false email that’s been going around on the internet for some time now.
I kills me that these people get to make these kind of decisions. The only thing that this kind of decision benefits is the amount of money in the pockets of ISPs and swindling lawmakers.
After the emotional suffering that I had to endure yesterday because my boys couldn’t beat UNLV I figured I needed to post something light hearted and funny.
Often invoking terrorism and child pornography as justifications, the administration has argued that Internet providers must install backdoors for surveillance and has called for routers to be redesigned for easier eavesdropping.
I’m sure that everyone has already heard that Libby was found guilty, but I’m posting it anyway.
“I will say there was a tremendous amount of sympathy for Mr. Libby on the jury. It was said a number of times, ‘What are we doing with this guy here? Where’s Rove? Where are these other guys?’ ” Collins said. “I’m not saying we didn’t think Mr. Libby was guilty of the things we found him guilty of. It seemed like he was, as Mr. Wells put it, he was the fall guy.”
I was thinking about the fact that I felt sorry for Libby just the other day when it occurred to me that if Libby isn’t found guilty (which he should have been) then every right wing pundit out there would point to that and call this whole thing a witch hunt. I still feel sorry for Mr. Libby, but that’s not a good enough reason to acquit him. I just wish that the people that made him the “fall guy” would have been on trial.
This is just one more step in the degradation of the Bush administration. So when do you think that the fiscal conservatives will get their party back? Soon I hope.
Another bit of your privacy taken away by this man
When Bush signed this bill into law back on Dec. 20th he did something that he’s done more than any other president in history. He issued a signing statement. His signing statement claimed that he has the right to open our mail.
He’s whittling away our rights. I know some of you out there think that it’s OK because he’s on your side, but he wont be the president forever. Believe it or not, that was the side that I was on up until about 2 years ago. Now I don’t think there are any sides in politics other than the people with power and those of us without.
This CNN article talks about political corruption and the highest court in the land. Imagine that.
Some of the better quotes…
This one:
“In many ways, I guess it’s the same old story of the political use of the FBI,” Charns said.
And this one:
In one previously secret memo from 1971, an FBI official wrote, “No persons interviewed during our current or 1969 investigation furnished information bearing adversely on Rehnquist’s morals or professional integrity; however …” The next third of the page is blacked out, under the disclosure law’s exception for matters of national security.
“It would be nice to know what is still classified, three decades later,” Charns said.
