If I wasn’t married with booger eaters I’d be an outlaw too.

The Edmund Fitzgerald – Dedication

Monday, November 10th, 2008

Today is the 33 Anniversary of the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald. I’ve always thought that this song was kind of haunting. I worked for five years on a fishing boat out of a San Diego harbor. I can’t tell you how many times, when on a deck watch all alone at night, I’ve thought of what it would be like to go down at sea. When I was working on the boat another boat in our fleet was hit by a rogue wave and all but the cook drowned, we were all kind of shook up that year.

My music

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

I’m going to put a few videos up over the next few days or so that will define what kind of music I like. I doubt that anyone cares what kind of music I like, but it’s my site and I can do whatever the fuck I want on it. I’m sick of the weak music that the “kids” listen to today (my 14 year old is too – thank God). I guess that’s what happens when you let the wanabe republican moral majority lead the country for damn near a decade. Anyway, here’s the first video:

’80s Music

Some kick ass music from the ’80s.

Fuck The RIAA

Friday, March 23rd, 2007

It looks like a few of the Universities that the RIAA requested student info from have told them to shove it up there ass.

I’m also happy to see that the UW was one of them.

The Saints Are Coming!

Sunday, January 21st, 2007

I love the song that U2 and Green Day performed on that Monday night when the Saints came back to the Super Dome. I just heard it on ESPN and I got the goose bumps for at least 45 seconds. I’ve never been a big Saints fan, but how can you not be right now? I’m glued to the TV today giving the Saints all the help I can. Go Saints!

Here’s the video:

American Idol – Instant Fame

Friday, January 19th, 2007

This post may not be about what you are expecting. It’s not about an American Idol contestant that’s garnered instant fame – not really anyway. It’s about a guy that got bored, watched American Idol, decided to find out more about the standout contestants (good and bad) and then blogged about it.

His name is Eric and he has a site not really unlike mine in the sense that it was created to mostly communicate with family and friends. However, after his post about American Idol’s visit to Minneapolis the traffic at his website changed a bit. Here’s the link to his site, and here’s the link to the post that tells his story. Make sure to look at the American Idol Myspace Hunt: Round 1 and 2 posts that he has up.

Interesting stuff. If his page doesn’t load it’s because so many people are hitting his site at the same time that you’re trying to, just try again in a minute or so. Also, there’s always the chance that his site is down for a while due to the traffic.

Hat tip to Big Jim for the initial link.

Paula Abdul gone wild!

Chase Lizards Bark at Donkeys

Thursday, May 11th, 2006

I know that Anthony Kiedis of the RHCP can come up with some crazy lyrics sometimes but Death of a Martian off of Stadium Arcadium (MARS) could take the cake. It’s a great song, every time it comes on while I’m coding at work it catches my attention. kind of makes me chuckle when I think about chasing lizards and barking at donkeys.
